Overview

Find spiritual renewal at Pura Tirta Tadah Uwug, a sacred spring set into the eastern cliffside of the Tukad Melangit river valley. This half-day spiritual experience offers guided melukat (purification bathing) at a genuinely sacred, still-active spring — not a constructed spa experience. The site holds 10 spouts (pancoran) in total, with 9 used for melukat and 1 reserved for funerary rites. The upper 5 spouts are associated with the panca maha bhuta (five great elements), while the lower spouts are associated with bone, marrow, skin, and blood. Your guide or local pemangku leads you through the ritual, explaining the symbolic meaning and proper etiquette. After the ceremony, enjoy quiet reflection time by the river and refreshments at the on-site Tadah Uwuk Coffee and Eatery. Small-group and private options available for a more personal, contemplative pace.
