Description

A sacred spring and melukat (spiritual purification bathing) site set into the eastern cliffside of the Tukad Melangit river valley, surrounded by bamboo forest. It is one of Nyalian's most actively developing tourism attractions, drawing both local worshippers and spiritual tourists, including a growing number of international visitors. The water source itself — a spring emerging from a rock crevice beneath the cliff — is described by local sources as having existed since ancient times, valued for melukat and for drawing holy water connected to religious ceremony. The site holds 10 spouts (pancoran) in total — 5 in the upper pool and 5 in the lower pool. Of these, 9 are used for melukat, while 1 is reserved specifically for pitra yadnya (funerary rites). The upper 5 spouts are associated with the panca maha bhuta (five great elements), including one linked to kundalini energy; the lower spouts are associated with bone, marrow, skin, and blood. Visitors descend a stone stairway from the parking area to reach the bathing complex, arriving to the sound of the Tukad Melangit river and birdsong beneath a forest canopy. After melukat, visitors can rest at the on-site Tadah Uwuk Coffee and Eatery.
