Trek through forest ravine to a hidden clan temple — Nyalian's most adventurous discovery.
A forest temple set within the Tukad Melangit river ravine, on the boundary between Nyalian and the neighboring village of Tamanbali. Reachable only on foot, it offers Nyalian's most immersive nature-and-heritage combination — a genuine trekking experience leading to a site of real ancestral significance. Pura Tirta Harum is the kawitan (clan-origin) temple of the Mahagotra Tirta Harum, part of the Satria Taman Bali lineage. Its Piodalan is held on Anggarakasih Juluwangi, a recurring date within the 210-day Balinese Pawukon calendar. The approach itself is part of the experience: the temple sits inside forest terrain at the edge of the Tukad Melangit gorge, accessible only by trekking in — vehicles can only reach an initial gateway starting point. Two trekking routes are documented: one starting from Desa Tamanbali, the other from Desa Nyalian.
